씨티그룹이 올해 331명에 대해 매니징 디렉터(MD)로 승진 인사를 단행했다고 런던 파이낸셜뉴스가 13일(영국시간) 보도했다.

◇올해 중국 IPO 조달액 114조 원…사상 최고
올해 중국 본토의 기업공개(IPO) 조달액이 사상 최고치를 경신할 것으로 보인다고 니혼게이자이신문이 14일 보도했다.
KPMG에 따르면 올해 세계 IPO 조달액은 1천800억 달러(약 234조 원)로 작년 4천680억 달러에 비해 크게 감소할 것으로 추정된다. 인플레이션과 금리 인상으로 금융시장이 동요한 영향에 미국 IPO가 크게 줄었다. 미국 기업의 조달액은 작년보다 90% 이상 줄었다.
반면 중국 IPO 조달액은 전년 대비 5% 증가한 6천100억 위안(약 114조 원)으로 2년 연속 사상 최고치를 경신할 전망이다. 거래소별 조달액 랭킹에서 상하이증권거래소와 선전증권거래소가 각각 1위, 2위를 차지한 데 비해 뉴욕증권거래소는 상위 5위권 밖으로 밀려났다.

샘 뱅크먼-프리드 전 FTX 창업자와 캐롤라인 엘리슨 알라메다 리서치 최고경영자(CEO)의 수사가 진행 중인 가운데 이들은 화이트칼라 범죄를 전문으로 하는 강력한 형사 변호인을 선임한 것으로 전해졌다.
14일(현지시간) 폭스비즈니스에 따르면 미국 연방 검사가 뱅크먼-프리드를 총 8개 범죄 혐의로 기소한 가운데 그가 최대 115년의 징역형을 선고받을 잠재적 가능성이 있다.
뱅크먼-프리드는 코헨 앤 그레서 로펌의 마크 코헨 변호사를 선임했다.
코헨 변호사는 연방 검사 출신으로 금융회사와 헤지펀드, 임원, 에너지 회사 등 다양한 고객을 대변했다. 특히 코헨은 성매매 관련 재판에서 제프리 앱스타인의 측근인 기슬레인 맥스웰을 변호했고 마약 카르텔 리더였던 호아킨 엘 차포 구즈만도 변호했다.

◇'스타벅스 아마존 고' 카페 직원들, 노조 결성 움직임
스타벅스와 아마존이 함께 만든 '스타벅스 아마존 고' 카페 직원들이 과다한 업무량을 이유로 노조를 결성하려는 움직임을 보인다고 비즈니스인사이더가 15일(현지시간) 보도했다.
타임스퀘어에 위치한 매장 직원 30명은 이날 중으로 노조 결성 여부를 결정할 예정이다.
스타벅스 아마존 고는 양사가 지난해 야심차게 만든 협업 매장이다. 아마존의 무인 결제 기술과 스타벅스의 모바일 주문 서비스를 합쳐 신기술이 집약된 매장으로, 스타벅스의 음료와 아마존 고의 간단한 간식을 판매한다.
그러나 이 매장에서 일하는 스타벅스 직원들은 아마존의 신기술이 일거리를 줄여주기는커녕 손님들에게 매장 사용 방법을 알려줘야 해 일이 더 늘었다며 불만이 커진 것으로 알려졌다.
또 아마존의 간식 메뉴를 데우다 화상을 입는 등 오히려 부담은 커졌지만, 급여는 그대로라고 지적했다.

◇'금융허브' 런던, 올해 IPO 가뭄…자금 조달액 93% 급감
올해 영국의 기업공개(IPO) 시장이 큰 타격을 받았다. 올해 상장에 나선 기업은 지난해보다 67% 줄었고, 이들 기업이 조달한 자본 규모도 93% 감소했다.
14일(현지시간) 미국 경제방송 CNBC는 컨설팅 기업 KPMG 자료를 인용해 올해 런던증권거래소(LSE)에 상장한 기업이 40개 사에 그쳤다고 보도했다.
상장사 수는 123개 회사가 상장한 작년과 비교해 67%가량 줄어들었다.
40개 사가 조달한 자본은 10억 파운드로, 작년(143억 파운드)보다 93%나 급감했다.
기업공개 시장이 위축된 것은 영국만의 일은 아니다. S&P 글로벌은 올해 1~3분기 전 세계 IPO 건수가 전년 동기 대비 45% 감소했다고 밝혔다.
시장 데이터 업체 피치북에 따르면 유럽연합(EU)의 상장 건수도 올해 들어 66% 감소한 것으로 나타났다.
그러나 EU는 올해 블록버스터급 IPO를 성공시켰다. 지난 9월 포르쉐는 195억 유로를 조달하며 독일 프랑크푸르트 증시에 데뷔했다.
반면 런던에서는 10억 파운드 이상의 자금을 조달한 IPO가 없었다.
영국의 IPO 시장이 더욱더 큰 타격을 받은 것은 정치적 불안과 채권 시장의 혼란, 브렉시트로 인한 무역 및 규제의 복잡성, 기록적으로 긴 경기침체에 대한 전망 등 때문으로 풀이되고 있다.

◇케빈 오리어리, 워런 의원 맹비난에 "돈세탁 아냐"
미국 TV 쇼 '샤크 탱크'의 진행자이자 가상화폐 거래소 FTX의 공식 대변인이기도 한 케빈 오리어리가 엘리자베스 워렌 민주당 상원 의원과 '돈세탁' 개념에 대해 충돌했다.
14일(현지시간) 폭스비즈니스에 따르면 오리어리는 상원 은행위원회 청문회에서 워렌 의원에게 "돈세탁을 쉽게 한다는 의견에 동의하지 않는다"고 답했다.
워렌 의원은 월가의 매파이자 디지털 화폐에 강경한 입장을 갖고 있으며 암호화폐를 통한 테러 조직의 자금세탁과 자금조달을 단속하는 법안을 발의한 바 있다.

남편이 국가보안법 위반 혐의로 압수수색을 당하는 과정에서 배우자가 “여자 수사관이 있는 화장실에서 용변을 보는 등 인권 침해를 당했다”고 주장하며 국가인권위원회에 진정했다.
이아무개(48·경남 창원시)씨의 대리인인 민주화를 위한 변호사모임 경남지부, 정권위기 탈출용 공안탄압 저지 국가보안법 폐지 경남대책위원회는 14일 국가인권위원회 부산인권사무소 앞에서 기자회견을 열어 “압수수색 대상자가 아닌 배우자가 국가 공권력에 심각한 인권 침해를 당했다”고 밝혔다.
이씨가 이날 국가인권위원회 부산인권사무소에 제출한 진정서를 보면, 지난달 9일 아침 8시30분께 국가정보원·경찰청 수사관 20여명이 이씨의 경남 창원시 아파트에 도착했다. 수사관 가운데 1명이 초인종을 몇차례 눌렀고 잠옷 차림의 이씨가 “누구냐”고 묻자 “아파트 관리실”이라고 했다. 놀란 이씨가 문을 열자 수사관 10여명이 집안으로 들이닥쳤다. 수사관들은 국가보안법 위반 혐의로 이씨 남편의 압수수색영장을 받았다며 집안을 수색했다. 이 과정에서 이씨는 용변을 보기 위해 화장실에 들어가려고 했다. 남자 수사관이 압수수색이 끝나지 않았다며 제지했다. 이씨가 압수수색이 끝난 현관 앞 화장실로 들어가자 여자 수사관이 따라 들어왔다. 이씨는 “여자 수사관이 변기와 직각으로 놓인 벽 쪽으로 몸을 돌린 상태에서 용변을 봤다”고 주장했다.
현관 앞 화장실에서 나온 이씨는 샤워를 하기 위해 안방 화장실에 들어가려고 했다. 이번에도 남자 수사관이 안방 화장실 수색이 끝나지 않았다며 제지했다. 이씨가 압수수색이 끝난 안방 화장실에 들어가려고 하자 여자 수사관이 안방 화장실 문을 닫지 말고 일부 열어둔 상태에서 씻으라고 했다. 이씨는 어쩔 수 없이 문을 일부 열어둔 상태에서 샤워를 했다.
이어 이씨는 잠옷을 외출복으로 갈아입으려고 했다. 안방 화장실 문을 열고 샤워하라고 강요했던 여자 수사관이 이씨의 외출복을 검사했다. 여자 수사관은 “지정한 장소에서 문을 닫지 말고 일부 열어둔 상태에서 갈아입으라”고 지시했다. 이씨는 안방에 딸린 공간(알파룸)에서 문을 일부 연 채로 외출복으로 갈아입었다. 이씨는 낮 12시30분께, 이씨 남편은 오후 4시30분께 집을 나왔다. 압수수색은 이날 밤 늦게까지 계속됐다. 이씨 부부는 밖에서 잠을 잔 뒤 다음날 집에 들어갔다.
이씨는 진정서에서 “여자 수사관이 직접 용변 장면을 보지는 않았다고는 하나 용변을 보는 장소에 함께 있는 것 자체가 성적 수치심을 일으켰다. 남자가 대다수인 수사관들이 주거지를 수색하고 있는 가운데 문을 열고 알몸으로 샤워하고 옷을 갈아입게 강요해 극도의 성적 수치심과 공포를 느꼈다”고 주장했다.
민주화를 위한 변호사모임 경남지부의 장철순 변호사는 “이 사건 압수수색 영장은 진정인이 아닌 진정인 배우자 앞으로 발부된 것이고 수색 범위도 배우자의 신체·주거·차량·사무실로 한정됐는데 여성인 진정인의 용변·샤워·환복을 감시했다. 이는 헌법이 천명하고 있는 영장주의를 명백히 위반한 행위이며 헌법이 국민의 기본적 인권으로 보장하고 있는 인격권 및 신체의 자유를 침해하는 명백한 불법행위다”라고 말했다. 경찰청 수사팀 관계자는 “국가정보원과 경찰청이 압수수색을 한 것은 맞지만 진정인이 주장하는 내용이 맞는지를 먼저 확인해야 한다. 지금은 달리 드릴 말씀이 없다”고 말했다.
앞서 지난달 9일 국가정보원은 국가보안법 위반 혐의로 경남 4명, 서울 1명, 제주 1명 등 통일운동 활동가 6명의 집과 사무실 등을 압수수색했다. 2018년 경남 창원세계사격선수권대회에 참가한 북한선수단 응원활동과 개성공단 재가동을 위한 캠페인, 친일 적폐청산 집회 등을 북한의 지령과 배후조종으로 진행한 혐의다.경기도의회 국민의힘 소속 여성의원들이 “성인지 감수성이 결여된 시대착오적 발언을 한 당사자는 여야 없이 비판받아야 한다”고 밝혔다.
이들은 30일 도의회 브리핑룸에서 기자회견을 열고 “더불어민주당 소속 여성 의원들은 자당 의원 성희롱성 발언에는 침묵하다가 국민의힘 의원의 발언에만 분노하느냐”라며 이같이 말했다.오피가이드이어 “민주당 소속 여성 의원들의 선택적 분노와 내로남불식 자당 의원에 대한 관대함을 보면서 무엇을 위해 분노하고 규탄하는지 의문이 든다”며 “양성평등과 성폭력 예방에는 남녀는 물론 여야가 없다”고 강조했다.
국민의힘 여성의원들은 이날 기자회견에서 가정폭력, 성폭력, 성매매, 성희롱 등 4대 폭력 예방 교육 의무화와 논란의 발언을 한 양당의 의원들의 사과와 재발 방지 대책을 요구했다.
그러면서 “이 같은 요구사항을 이행하지 않을 경우 도의회 의원 윤리강령 및 윤리 실천 규범에 관한 조례에 따라 두 의원 모두 도의회 윤리특별위원회에 징계를 요구할 것”이라고 경고했다.
앞서 도의회 양당은 ‘성인지 감수성’을 놓고 서로를 향해 책임 공방을 벌였다. 각 당에서 한 남성 의원이 부적절한 발언을 한 탓이다.
문병근(국힘‧수원11) 의원은 지난 22일 여성가족평생교육위원회 회의에서 “7~8월 휴가철에 성폭행 발생 빈도가 높은 이유는 여성들의 복장이 원인 제공을 한 것도 있다”고 말했다.
